Anyone have any good meditation or exercise techniques? I don't have panic attacks but sometimes I get really irritable and feel somewhat overwhelmed.

And you're asking for advice on an Internet message board?

Why don't you go see a doctor.

My doctor would just prescribe some pills, I'm looking for a non-pharmaceutical treatment.

Did you mean to post this on the help board??

I find that writing things down helps. I just have to narrow my focus as best I can. I get overwhelmed by every little thing

Get a hobby or a girlfriend or a life away from an internet website. Volunteer at a homeless shelter start going to Church or start drinking heavily.

You do know that you could tell your doctor you would prefer an alternate form of treatment versus medication?

If you don't mind me asking, what do you do for a living?

I understand if you choose not to answer.

Which explains why you are asking for medical advice on an Internet message board.

Excuse me for asking.

If you're looking for an introduction to meditation, I find Jack Kornfield to be a very accessible teacher.

Have you tried a float tank?

neurolift by vitacost works pretty well

there's a big variety of items for anxiety

they're similar to drugs and OTC drugs where you need too see what works best for you.

could be a bit of trial and error

5htp and chamomile tea may help as well, but that neurolift was pretty good when I needed it.

Exercise. Go run yourself until you're about to vomit. Your brain will focus on the body.

Exercise is your friend. The endorphins released during a workout will increase your ability to deal with day to day stresses.
