You paid 200k for your son to go to LSU?

Drop your email. I have several business ventures and/or real estate deals that I think you'd be VERY interested in.

I think a 23 act and mediocre GPA isn’t a sure thing these days but I might be wrong

2026 is the largest HS graduating class in history. UT overflows to aTm. aTm overflows to LSU. Texas just experienced a huge surge in population. Both schools just announced they are reducing acceptances. So get ready LSU.

I took my 2026’er to tour Ole Miss and Miss State last month. The former must have had 3000 kids that day touring. Enough to fill the basketball arena. About half out of staters. Even Ole Miss isn’t gonna be a sure thing anymore.

23 is considered pretty close to the minimum for entrance. I'd suggest a test prep book and a retake in the Fall.

ACT average in LA is 17.7. Nationally, it is a 19.4. 23 is well above average.

If your kid is from LA they don't want you....you're pond scum. But out of state, they would love your kid...and $$$$$.

this is very true.
unofficial list of their priority:
out of state kids who will pay out of state tuition
minority kids, in state with average to good grades
non-minority kids, in state with average to good grades

now that ACT scores are optional, I don't know how they compare a kid with a good GPA but no ACT score to a kid with an average GPA and a decent ACT score. I would guess race is a factor. Who knows?

Being average doesn’t quite help you get into college

Chat GPT is your friend

As of the most recent data available, the average ACT composite score for incoming freshmen at Louisiana State University (LSU) is approximately 26. The middle 50% of admitted students typically score between 24 and 29 on the ACT . ?

LSU employs a test-optional admissions policy, meaning that submitting ACT or SAT scores is not mandatory. However, applicants with scores at or above the average—such as an ACT score of 27 or higher—may enhance their application by including them . ?

You may have that backwards.

No.

There is inflation in ACT scores over last 20-30 years

People that made a 25 in 90s would prob make a 30 today

So OPs son prob would have made around a 20 in 90s
