If he's a black female 100%. Scale down accordingly the further away you get from that.

A 23 is 70th percentile. It's fine.

I'd try to get that ACT up with another try or two.

The number of applicants are at it's highest levels, plus LSU is finally catching up to all the other out of state SEC schools that are are giving free money away to out of state students......you may not find until March, April or May if she/he gets in.......you better have a plan A, B and C

He shouldnt go to college unless he has a plan for what he is going to do there Otherwise it will just be 13th grade and a waste of your money.

He needs to go learn to be AI so that he can get a white collar entry level job. Right?

How much have you wasted on that rigorous college prep to have that GPA and ACT score?

Doesn’t sound like your kid is serious about school. Maybe don’t pay out the arse for LSU?

Send him to community college and if he takes it seriously, then let him transfer to LSU. Sending a kid with those grades and test scores straight to a 4 year school is asinine.

I think a 23 act and mediocre GPA isn’t a sure thing these days but I might be wrong

Yeah, I graduated HS in 2008, and knew several kids who didn't get in with about that same ACT/GPA. Some were offered the chance to take remedial courses all summer before the fall to get a boost, but you may have had to pay for that out of pocket, so they just went to Southeastern.

Only like 20 of us out of my nearly 300 graduating class went to LSU.

Granted, I went to a public school in Central, so this isn't exactly shocking.

You may have that backwards.

I would have them take the ACT a few more times. Especially with the superscore bullshite.

LSU has an acceptance rate of 75%.

You really have to try to not get in.

It isn’t the university of Mississippi though. Those guys are in the upper 90s.

My daughter got admitted to LSU very last minute with a 2.95 weighted and a 26 ACT. They definitely made her sweat. She exhibited zero real effort in highschool so I think her testing scores helped her tremendously. Have your kid keep taking the ACT (as you noted) until he/she gets a 25+ in my opinion.

and if you opt into that summer program you have to live on campus unless you live within the circle

If your kid is from LA they don't want you....you're pond scum. But out of state, they would love your kid...and $$$$$.
