My grandmother on my mother’s side made fried apple pies. They were pretty awesome.
She also made what she called Martha Washington balls. Coconut, pecan, sugar emulsion coated in chocolate. Hard to beat.

My grandfather gave us Miller Hi Life ponies
Mine did too, he just didn't know it (or didn't acknowledge that he knew it).

My other grandma was a shockingly bad cook for someone who grew fairly poor and had 5 kids. But they had a mini dirt bike I could ride in a big field next to their house, so I let the crappy cooking slide.
Similar to me
One of of grandmothers was possibly the worst cook I have ever seen in my life
Cooking plain buttered pasta somewhat correctly was about the top of the line
But they had the absolute best place to visit

We keep those things in the freezer. Put some vanilla ice cream between two, ice cream sandwich.

Maw maw would put kool aid in a dixie cup in the freezer in the summer. This probably 50% kool aid and 50% sugar. I don't think it was better than the homemade banana pudding or chocolate pie though.

Homemade banana pudding from scratch.
More than that, I remember the switch she would tear off the tree. Somehow, she always caught me.

Maw maw made some kind of condensed chocolate liquid that she would put in cups in the freezer and we would eat it every day after school. She was the best.

bad thing about these is the disappointment that came when I saw this tin, and opened it to find her sewing shite
My grandma's tin always had cookies in it. If I walked down to her place, I got a Pepsi and some butter cookies. If I timed it right when Grandpa was having lunch, I might get a cheeseburger on toasted white bread.

Sips of a gin and 7up highball.
