What am I missing in the SNL California skit?

If you ever travel out to the west coast, you'll understand. Went to Portland OR in February, was given directions similar to the californians. "First you take the 205, then the 84, then the 5, then the 405, and finally the 26 then you're there." I was 
as the hertz agent was giving these instructions since I immediately thought of the californians

Our San Francisco friends make fun of us DFW ers when we give them similar directions. Big cities have a lot of highways.
