I guess I'm luckier than some. I was 50 when my Dad passed away.

24, he died 2 months after he was my best man at my wedding, he was 49

I lost my Dad at the beginning of this month, I'm 37. I think it's harder losing him at this age because I feel like I'm counting down my time now.

Im lucky in the fact that we had 3 years to prepare mentally for him dying. I lived at home to help take care of him, so every possible thing we could say was said.

the old fart called me for my birthday last week.
He bitched about Hillary, wanted to know if I could get him a MAGA hat.
He also complained about some news he saw on FB , I didnt have the heart to tell him it was fake news. Then he reminded me his 30th anniversary with the younger wife was upcoming and he could still get it.
then we prayed and he thanked God for giving him such a wonderful son and told me how proud he was of me.

Lost my mom at 15. Suicide.
Parents were divorced when I was 11, my dad had cheated w/ my moms best friend. Mom had primary custody, saw my dad on holidays. Had to go back to live with him after she died. fricked me up royally.

I am 30 and almost lost my 53 year old dad last month. Luckily, my husband is amazing and let him move in with us and he is still alive.
