Current Louisiana tint laws below, I say 20% of all cars I see violate this. And 99% of the 20% are complete maniacs and likely criminals IMHO. Thoughts?

Tint darkness for sedans:

Windshield: Non-reflective tint is allowed above the manufacturer’s AS-1 line or top 5 inches.
Front Side windows: Must allow more than 40% of light in.
Back Side windows: Must allow more than 25% of light in.
Rear Window: Must allow more than 12% of light in.
Tint darkness for SUV and vans:

Windshield: Non-reflective tint is allowed above the manufacturer’s AS-1 line or top 5 inches.
Front Side windows: Must allow more than 40% of light in.
Back Side windows: Any darkness can be used.
Rear Window: Any darkness can be used.

Tint laws are some of the most retarded in existence.

By saying this, do you even know why tiny laws are in place?

I am guilty of breaking Louisiana state law for this. However, I am not registered in Louisiana, so there's that.

I can say the darker the tint, along with the metallic (ceramic) or whatever is in it (3M's best product) makes a huge difference. Don't get me wrong, it's still hot, but it's so much better than not having tint or minimal tint shade because of laws.

I doubt mine would pass LA tint laws. But it’s just factory tint.

To generate revenue for the locals?

Don’t pretend they’re actually about police safety.

Guess I’m a complete maniac and criminal then. Arrest me grandpaw

Maybe it’s because I don’t want the Broome Rouge poors looking in my vehicle or so I can get guilt free road head. Both are reasonable

Most inspection places don't check it. I've had my truck for over 6 years and I'm pretty sure my front window tint is illegal. The truck was traded with a dealership in Texas IIRC. You can drive around BR with no license plate if you want to.

Before it became the fad, I never realized how useful it is from a safety point of view to be able to see the face of other drivers and whether they have noticed your car in a variety of potentially dangerous driving situations

Eta: I have a friend who stopped driving his motorcycle for this reason. Just couldn't tell if the car at a stop sign was going to pull out in front of him

I think Brake tags are the dumbiest thing ever! It’s all a money grab!

Window tint is the first thing I do to any new vehicle.

Mine is. It's a stupid law, so I choose to ignore it.

Most factory tinted glass is 20%, so I'd up that to 60-70%.

Why are you boot licking though? It's too hot outside for that.
