WeWork is offering some of its employees $100 a day if they feel comfortable coming into work amid the coronavirus outbreak.
Earlier this week, WeWork’s COO Shyam Gidumal offered members of the company’s community teams a bonus worth $100 a day or up to $500 week through the month of April as an extra reward for them working out of WeWork offices, according to an internal memo obtained by CNBC. The bonus applies to community teams in the U.S. and Canada. The existence of the memo was previously reported by the New York Times.
WeWork’s community teams include associates who are responsible for supporting members’ needs, including handling any mail or packages, on-site programming and member communications, among other services.

I went by our temporary space at WeWork last week and it was a complete ghost town.
They're basically having 85-90% of their staff work remote, and they rotate coming in to man the front desk. The only reason is because if they close their offices, clients would have a viable argument to not pay on their contract.
Trust me, my boss is praying they shut down so he can get some money back.
Honestly, I may start going back there before long just to get out of the house. There's no one there so I'd be "social distancing" just as much there as I do at home. And they have some nice views.

My ex-wife in residence works for a large retail store that is closed. She's getting paid though. She'd love to come into the empty store and do stuff that never gets done (such as "rack integrity").

About to be? It's been bad for a while, and is kind of a joke in the private equity industry.
