Depicting Jesus as white is itself an attack on objective history. But that’s ok.

If we are being “objective” what color are the people in the pictures I posted?

I read an article yesterday about how Shaun King wants all the statutes of Jesus torn down because it “represent of form of white supremacy”. All I can say is that I don’t want to be in his shoes when he departs this Earth.

This is an attempt to make people look racist.

If you have a problem with Jesus not being white then you must be racist. At least that is their stance.

But really people just don't like changing things that they've seen their entire lives.

And what are they going to do. Go change paintings of Jesus that are hundreds of years old? Or are they just going to deem them racist paintings and take them down?

How white is Jesus in "The Last Supper".

I fully support the fact that Jesus was not a white guy. But this is ridiculous. And I'm not even a religious person.

Only a non Christian or someone with a very distorted understanding of who Christ is would fight to classify Christ as a race. Christians understand that Christ was and IS the SON OF GOD, and we are all made in His image, so in essence, Christ is ALL OF THE ABOVE. Christ is black, Christ is white, Christ is Middle Eastern, Christ is Asian, Christ is Latino, Christ is every race on earth. If it helps people to see Christ as their own race, who cares? It does not matter. He is the savior of ALL of us. His race is completely unimportant to who Christ is and what being a Christian is about. To focus on Christ’s skin pigmentation is to miss the ENTIRE MESSAGE OF THE GOSPELS and the hope He offers mankind.

quote:

Jesus answered, “My kingdom is not of this world. If my kingdom were of this world, my servants would have been fighting, that I might not be delivered over to the Jews. But my kingdom is not from the world.” - JOHN 18:36

Jesus is not of this earth. So, he’s not one particular race. He is the Son of the Living God, and since we are all made in God’s image, He reflects every single one of us.

To go one step further, when you see a depiction of a crucifixion, you should be all rights see an image very much like yourself since as sinners that’s what we deserved, but it was Christ who paid that price for us in our stead.

Yes it is an attempt to make Christianity racist or at least starting to infiltrate and test what they can push Christians to give in on. Does it matter? Absolutely not. However those who insist that “Jesus wasn’t white!!1!1!1 he was middle eastern!!1!1!” Are more racist. I posted pictures of three current heads of government in the levant who directly trace their families back in the region for generations on generations. I don’t see how anyone other than Adolph wouldn’t consider them “white”. So the irony is that if you insist in the face of evidence that all middle easterners are brown then you are in fact the racist

We all know Jesus was a Middle Eastern Jew, he was neither white or black...

Don’t different cultures depict Jesus in their own images for Christ sake..

Pardon the pun..

Jesus was not a black African. That's for sure, but he may have looked fairly white, being from the region he was from and what it looked like 2000 years ago.

But he's not depicted as white to subjugate black people, as these zealots claim. He's depicted as white to subjugate - white people, specifically the white Europeans they were trying to convert and galvanize once converted.

Modern Jews spent 1900 years in Europe mixing with Europeans.

Ancient Israel and Judah were at the crossroads between Africa, Asia, and Europe, and the Hebrews spent an extended time in Egypt. They didn't look like Cush-ites but they very likely picked up some DNA from Sub-Saharan Africa over the years.

That's okay, because progressives/liberals have spent the last I don't know how long telling us that you can believe anything you want to believe, do anything you want to, feel anything you want to feel, and still go to Heavan.

The way they look at it, I can believe Jesus is whatever race I want him to be.

I just assumed it was because hundreds of years ago people weren’t well-travelled like they are now. There was no TV and internet. The average person probably had no idea what people looked like in the area Jesus was from.

So painters probably just painted him like the people around them.

That’s what I always assumed.

From what I understand, all religions generally do it. Buddha statues are different in different areas and generally reflect the ethnicity of the local populace.

Ok fine. But he wasn’t Black, either. He wasn’t Asian. He wasn’t Latino. He was probably of Middle Eastern ethnic stock. But then who knows? Who makes the call?

this means as much to me as the UN saying "we can't go back to normal".
