Exactly, what about them? Do you think Assad would dare attempt to attack them? That seems like a great way to lose your country and life within 24 hours. He already has a fight on his hands without further pissing us off

I don't want them there at all. It's time we leave that shithole to it's own devices. We have NOTHING to gain from being there.

I'm fine with getting involved anywhere if it's either a matter of national security or to stop tyrannical leaders from torturing people. My only caveat is that we can't get involved in the rebuilding of a country. Its been proven time and time again that it does not work.

I agree with this.

And??? What does a tweet made 3 1/2 years ago by someone who was not president, therefore, not privy to 'presidential national security & defense information' at the time, have anything to do with anything? This always cracks me up.

That doesn't even touch the whole Congressional approval part

As long as it's NO boots on the ground AND, there's a DEFINED end game...other wise it's simply ANOTHER foreign boondoggle in the making !
Bottom line...when a population is fed up with being trated like animals, they should band together and overcome their overlords. Having a foreign power attempt to do this FOR you will usually result in an even worse set of circumstances for the down-trodden ! Let Syrians liberate Syria, let Somalis liberate Somalia and on and on and on
Freedom and independence are EARNED not given !

These people were the Taiwan of Syria. They "officially" were under Syrian rule but the area is under rebellion and Assad has no real power there

Assad/Syria were cleary getting the upper hand though and starting to "win" which makes it confusing AF as to why he would pull a move like this. Legit had 0 good reason to do it by public info /logic

It worked in Japan and Germany after WWII just fine.

We nuked the shite out of Japan. Germany didn't want the same fate. Flying uranium tends to make folks get in line and cooperate. Today, every country in the world knows that a nuclear bomb isn't on the menu. If we had nuked Afghanistan or Iraq you can bet your arse that the locals that we put into power would've done a better job and we could've gotten out of there.

I just think in some of these areas, there's no hope of that. These regimes are way too powerful and the weapons that they have access to from world powers are totally insurmountable to those that would try to stand up and fight.

While our victory during the revolution was improbable, at least both sides were using the same weapons as the other. Washington wouldn't have stood a chance if King George was firing Sarin Gas all over the battle field.

We have to protect them. We don't have to let them live here to do so.

This, unfortunately, applies to many. The cancer that is liberalism has eaten away logic, common sense, & the ability to reason in many otherwise intelligent people who now 'think' a-logically, using 'feelings' & emotion only, and are now only capable of comprehending Libocrap lies & fallacies since they appeal to emotion. Tragic really.
