Who knew boomers destroyed social security?
Here I was thinking it was the governments great ability to mismanage every thing they touch into the ground.
And don't give me this shite about them voting the politicians that did this in...no one...ever...knowingly voted for that shite.

I was listening to The Gap Band (you dropped a bomb on me), KC & The Sunshine Band (Boogie Man, Get Down Tonight), and was just thinking how incredible that music was, then they went to songs about murder, drugs, violence, bling starting in the early to mid 90s. Wish we had KC and SUnshine Band and Gap Band rather than rap.

As a Boomer who got married in 1975 at the age of 21. Thw war was just ending and less of us were drafted. Our biggest wedding gift was $20 dollars from my boss at the time. He had a large family and was just kind. We started out by renting and driving an older vehicle. We raise 4 children and was lucky enough to buy our old home that we still live in. My wife has never held a job and we only bought what we could afford. No regrets. We help our children and grandchildren the best that we can. I totally don't see where this criticism comes from. What exactly did we do that cause your problem? We worked long hours and paid our taxes.

Boomers
Being Gen X
Parents boomers
Broke in to the workforce with Boomers
You were expected to start at the bottom and work up if you made it you made it if you didn’t you didn’t. Hell we didn’t get water breaks for summer football practice it was a privilege that you earned by passing out !!
No handouts given
Believe that’s why as that generation ready to pass the baton to the next generation can’t believe the entitlement expected.

Now you’re expected to have 5 years experience and a masters degree for an entry level job that pays $15/hour

I get why people criticize Boomers, mainly because they told everybody during the 60s and into the 70s how enlightened they were and how they knew so much more than "the establishment" about how to live and by the 80s they had become the establishment. (And yes, I know every generation does that to some degree, but they were downright insufferable about it).
Some did for sure. Some were like the Meathead or worse. But I know many who were well-adjusted, successful, and quite traditional in their ways. I know folks who volunteered to serve their country in Vietnam and later demonstrated no ill effects or bitterness. I know boomers who were part of NASA when it was sending men to the Moon. It's impossible to generalize an entire generation, but some whiney little bitches try.

Of course. If everyone in that age range had been a boomer-style hippie society would have collapsed.

Agreed. That wasn't my intention.
