for some kind of catholic holiday. This is why this state is so far behind, making it harder for protestants to conduct business.

You know, this board has guidelines about starting a thread for every thought that pops into your cabeza.

When I was growing up, schools were closed on Nov 1. When did that stop happening?

The fact that OweO is still around shows it's unenforced.

And yet the Catholic areas of Louisiana routinely rate the highest in the nation when it comes to general happiness.
Weird, right?

All Saints Day
It's a Catholic holiday, but if you are a fan of the Saints football team, you can pretend it is about them.

As a Protestant from North LA, I can attest to this.

I got in an argument with a teacher last night.
She was complaining that she had to work today and she said her and the rest of the teachers were gonna make damn sure that next year this was a holiday.
I asked her if she could call my boss and explain why everyone deserved today as a holiday. And if she could ask him for 3 months off in the summer and a month for Christmas as well as ending every day at 3:30.
She wasn't amused

I’m surprised you can still get away with taking off on a religious holiday, tbh.

It’s Saint Hollow’s Day, basically all religions in the West.... but the clerks and judges of Louisiana are the only ones that celebrate it because they are the only ones that get off work.
