Went New Orleans last night...

I was not impressed.
First, Harrahs is still the shitest casino on the Gulf Coast. The parking there has gone from bad to worse, it is now ticket system that asks you to pay inside and put a sticker on the ticket, but if you play you get a validation slip instead that you scan. Not a worker to be found if you have an issue when you leave.
As far as casino action, there were too many new gaming devices, I like my mix of older games. Harrahs also needs some decor changes in the access halls and walkways going from the Garage to Casino. At least they finally started making use of the the escalators in Masquerade. (It blows my mind to know that the legislature extended their contract so they can make the problem worse with a carrot for new Hotel and other improvements.)
Construction...who in their right mind thinks shrinking Convention Center Boulevard in to a 2 lane road and widening the side walk for more “green space.” The current situation with the construction is a nightmare to travel even at 1 am. WTF is that going up at end of the river bound service road that collects all the exit traffic from the Mississippi River Bridge and expressway for more green space.
Also, how long has that construction being going on. I know it was a while since I had been to Harrahs, but when I looked it up prior to going on Google street view they were working in that section near Harrahs’s garage. The city must have the slowest contractor working on that project. Or the river has been impacting their work.
The smoking situation...The amount of signs at Masquerade saying please don’t smoke gave me a chuckle. I think they add smoke smoke from a fog machine as it was still a little Smokey in there.
The good news is that at least I wasn’t shot at.

You're up too early to have had a good time in NOLA, loser.

You were able to write all that so apparently you didn't get killed.

So you went to New Orleans, stayed in a 4 block area by the shitty casino, and were not impressed.
I'm shocked.

So you hung around Harrahs all night and you weren’t impressed with the city? Yeah man you really took it all in.

Sounds like you went to Harrahs last night. Hardly a reflection on the whole city. Casinos are always a little trashy. Masquerade night club sucks I don’t know why you would even go there
Convention center has been under construction for less than a year I believe.

The fact that you're up bright and early at 7:30 after a night out in New Orleans and are sober enough to type up a post such as this tells me everything I need to know about what type of night you had.

If you bad mouth NOLA anymore, we can meet up and I'll show a NOLA arse whooping, boy.

You don’t play poker?
What kind of fig are you?

Disappointed that you didn’t mention the buffet at harrahs sucks.
I assume you lost your money and your wife now hates you because it’s only the 4th of the month. How are you going to stretch those food stamps?

New Orleans, like most of Louisiana has fallen behind other areas of the United States in infrastructure, basic city planning, and vision. People want to defend New Orleans, but it remains a seedy, dirty, and dangerous place.
There will always be the: "Yes, New Orleans is a shithole, but it is Our shithole." crowd. Followed by the, "Get out if you don't like it crowd."
These people are part of the problem with Louisiana in general. They are willing to accept the decline of everything in this state, whereas citizens in other parts of the country refuse to accept inept government, crime, kulcha, litter, et al.
Yay Louisiana!

Harrah’s is nicer than every casino on the coast not named Beau Rivage, Hard Rock, or Golden Nugget.
Convention Center Blvd has been under construction for less than a year. For a good bit of that time, construction was limited due to the height of the river. That stretch does have too much traffic and by eliminating all of the buses as well as taxi and Uber drop off points, traffic will not be bad with 2 lanes.

While in town a few weeks ago to enjoy a poboy and gumbo at Parkway, it was sad to see how unkempt the neutral grounds are around the still boarded up old Mercy hospital. That area deserves better.

You’re one of those people who go to NO with the perception that it’s horrible (because dummies in the OT who never go say so), so you looked for reasons to hate it all night long. If y’all don’t like NO, don’t go. But, by the amount of visitors every year, many more people like it. So stop trying to tell everyone it’s horrible.

So you went to Nola and hung out in a casino you already knew was shitty instead of going to eat great food and see live music the city is known for. And you had a bad time.
Shocking.
Shocking.

Biloxi sounds like a better fit for you and the other casino dwellers. A half step up from the panhandlers washing windows at Claiborne and Poydras.
