Going to start offering Basic Economy tickets.

Middle seats, back of plane, and no use of overhead bins

Of course you can pay a little bit extra to opt into better options

Slow start to beginnings of making the airline as a la cart as possible

Why are upset that United is offering an option for cheap travel? It may not appeal to you, but you don't have to take it.

Also Southwest>>>>>>>>United

Those seats have always been there and the bins were always full for those folks anyway.

If I'm traveling regionally, I look for the cheapest available option. Luxury isn't really a priority for me. So, United's new options appeal to me.

Look on the travel board. He means you won't get to pick your seat at all. You are randomly assigned on the day of the flight. Unless you pay much more now. You will only be allowed one carry one that must be placed under your seat as well.

If these seats are at prices comparable to Frontier or Spirit then it's a good business model. There are a shite ton of people who are looking to fly for as cheaply as possible, comfort be damned.

Delta I believe also offers the "basic economy" option. I'm status with American, but even before then I don't recall them having this.

I don't care about this, it will probably help some people travel cheaper/easier.

No....basically now the cheaper flights that United already had....will be considered "economy" automatically.

So their flights are not getting cheaper.

Then that sounds awful.

I rarely fly anyway because I rarely go anywhere, but I will be avoiding united.

They've been turning into Spirit since they bought Continental. I miss Continental.
