Its Mitch McConnell pushing through a shitty bill that a large number of Americans won't get and will have to pay back anyway

What does that have to do with forcing a business to only pay a certain amount to someone?

If a private business can pay their employees with their own money then yes they can pay them whatever they want but if they are taking tax payer money to pay salaries then they definitely should be capped.

The government paying the bill isn't capitalism.

McConnell is getting screamed at by his corporate overlord, the last surviving Koch brother, because his holdings are tanking. I don't see anything objectionable about putting language in any legislation that would prevent companies from using the proceeds of the loan to hand out the typically bloated CEO bonuses and salaries. The vast majority should go to working-class employee salaries, not elsewhere.

Go look at the bullshite he's trying to cram though and look at the bipartisan bill. Chances are if I showed you both bills without telling you which one was Mitch's you'd chose the bipartisan bill

Working class people are often too focused on tribalism and identity politics to consider whether it would help them. I had a state Republican party official once tell me he couldn't understand why they got so much support from working class voters when most of the Democrat policies would be far more beneficial to them.

The bipartisan bill with provisions for solar energy, reducing carbon emissions, removing USPS debt, and mandating early voting in all states?

And what in S. 3548 is particularly concerning?

The Democratic bill attempts to force airlines to calculate carbon emissions and disclose to passengers, expand union rights, allow same day voter registration, and on and on. bullshite.

The House passed a bill last week. This is the Senate debating and amending the House Bill. I’m not a Pelosi fan, but you can’t blame this hold up on her.

Wrong. Phase 1 and 2 bills have already been signed by President Trump. This is phase 3 and was being led by senate until Pelosi played politics.

Democrats only wanted parasites to get a check and not those that actually fuel the economy and fund the government.

God forbid someone that actually pays taxes get a little back.

Can someone please prove to me that the senate bill includes a 500B "no strings attached" slush fund?

Because I am reading the relevant part right now and it clearly includes restrictions on what that money is used for.

How do you guys propose we allow these companies to keep their employees if not by providing them liquidity?

Yes, displaced workers need money immediately. But they also need a job to come back to.

Do you guys understand that companies employ people?

you so-called conservative dipshits are probably the same poor fricks that my company sells health insurance to on a daily basis. "I don't want none of that Obama-Care"

Yeah, they don;t want it until our salespeople explain to them that they're gonna get a BCBS Silver plan that costs $2,400/mth and the guvment (i.e. ME and Joe Taxpayer) is gonna pay $2,300 of it.

STFU you buzz-word retards.

All you need to know is what House Majority Whip Rep. James Clyburn (D-SC) told Democrats on a conference call last week.

He said “[The coronavirus pandemic] is a tremendous opportunity to restructure things to fit our vision.”

Unless you make a little bit more than decent money and you get $0?
