Body cam video should clear all this up. Attempted murder seems crazy, but I'll reserve judgment until seeing the video.
Ha!
Per an update:
"LAPD Detective Meghan Aguilar said at a Wednesday night news conference that it was unclear from body-worn police video whether her gun was fired or what occurred in the moments immediately before the shooting."

Well that sucks. I thought I read they found a shell casing from her gun?
ETA: They did find one. So they don’t necessarily need the video evidence to prove she fired it.

Only thing that should matter is whether or not it is clear that they made it known they were police, having guns drawn in her backyard.
If not clear, not guilty.

Did the gunshot destroy her sweater?

So they knew she wasn't the suspect, they were looking over the fence at her screaming at her to put the gun down in her own fricking lawn, AND it was over the radio that someone else had eyes on the suspect. Yes she shouldn't have shot at police, but holy shite what a bunch of jackboot thug police officers needlessly escalating a situation for no reason.

You’re taking her side?
I'm taking her side with the original encounter, not at raising the gun and shooting at cops. This entire thing is solved by saying "hey mam, we have this under control, please go back in your house". Instead they post up, start screaming their heads off at her (in the middle of a manhunt), and escalated the situation.

Overheard from the footage…
Bang, bang, knocking on the door
Another big bang, get down on the floor
Oh, no, what do we do?
Don't look now, but I lost my shoe

If I’m surrounded by a bunch of cops with their guns drawn, I’m complying lol. It’s shouldn’t take 5-10 min of warnings for her to realize she needs to put her gun down. She shot at the cops first, not vice versa.

Not disagreeing with you there, always fight it in court, but the big reminder is she was 1) in her own backyard, 2) was NOT the suspect, 3) someone else had eyes on the suspect and announced it on the radio, 4) not actively pointing the gun at anyone at time of police intervention. She one hundred percent handled it poorly, but there was zero reason the police even needed to get involved there.

Pretty clear she thought the armed and concealed police were thugs or something.
They did say police at one point but with the helicopter noise she may have a good excuse that she didn't hear it.

Interesting as well, she's actually wearing a Weezer t-shirt. After she gets shot, she turns and walks back across the yard and you see the W logo.
She's charged with attempted murder. I assume she'll plead to something lower? How much time do you think she serves? Keep in mind, it IS California...
