I worked nights for 16 years. It was nice having 4 days off a week.

I miss having a random weekday off. Made it really easy to schedule appointments, etc on those days.

But this (working regular hours) is better for my health and mental state overall. Nights just got to be too much. Was falling asleep at red lights on the drive home in the am.

I’ll never go back to the bedside. Staffing has gotten worse since I left. They just demand too much of bedside nurses now. Make them take way more patients than they should to safely care for them all.

I do miss the kids and caring for them, especially since it’s looking more and more like motherhood is just not in the cards for me, but I don’t miss the stress.

Just be you. At this point I can't imagine a single person would willingly sleep with you.

I don’t mean this in a rude way at all, and I know you’re trying to be helpful, but she doesn’t need your permission to adopt. Nor does she need to justify her desire or undesire to adopt. I know you’re trying it be supportive or positive, but suggesting adoption doesn’t really “cheer up” or encourage people who are trying to become pregnant.

He’s like that kid that keeps coming over to your house to play basketball on your goal without asking first and won’t leave. He just keeps shooting hoops until someone comes outside to tell him to leave.
