NOLA has nothing to do with this thread. Quit trying to tie it into your point

Where did NOLA come into play?

No idea. Thought he saw something I didn't. I was only responding to the guy.

What a dumb frick. Went to LSU and still thought a wedding was a good idea that time of year.

Or how about book it on a fricking Friday. No one is going to cry over missing their local HS football game.

All of this is said under the pretense that you are decently close to the person getting married.

I can rattle off about 8 or 9 people that if they got married id miss a game, chances are people who are THAT close to that chick arent the ones backing out.

I bet the Priest, hall employees, and photographer were hoping it would stay that way to so they could enjoy the game.

Should of chose careers that don't have big time weekend work hours.

This chick does not come off as the type that would plan a small, cozy wedding with a limited guest list.

The best day to get married is the day after the MLB All Star Game. Only thing you'll miss is the ESPYS. Thankfully before I could even think about bringing it up the SO stated she would never be responsible for a fall wedding. Got her head screwed on right.

I got married in late March and I had one guy make the joke that he was going to miss turkey hunting. I told him if he wanted to go turkey hunting, go turkey hunting.

You do realize that the football schedule is not out years in advance? Most couples set that date 1-2 years in advance once engaged(especially if it's a very popular venue). I mean.....everyone has the right to just not go if they don't want to.

Every LSU fan knows that Bama is in early november...plus she scheduled this wedding in december when the schedule was out.

My wife is from the country, where the entire extended family gets together every time any of them has the slightest news to share. I was blackballed for several months after. Wouldn't have changed a thing.

My SO and I were engaged a few months ago. We decided to elope. Partially because of all of the wedding threads here. Thanks OT!

at the end of the day, it is just a football game....

Shut up.

I did have TWO buddies get married DURING the CWS Finals 1996 and 2000. But who could have plan'ted that shite out?

FWIW, for both games, we found a TV during wedding reception to catch the last couple of innings.

Had a friend that got married in the fall. He was a big Alabama fan and they were playing Arkansas (not really that big of a game).

The reception was setup a big tailgate party with screens everywhere. It was sort of awesome.

My little girl is in a wedding out of town on that date. I'm considering staying another night at the hotel to make sure I get to watch it.

That or come home by halftime and start the dvr

So, in your opinion, wanting to get drunk and be entertained for 4 hours by an event that happens every year instead of attending one the most important days in a friend's life is NOT selfish?

People pay good money for their season tickets. It's 7 Saturdays a year people have to plan around. It's selfish on the bride and grooms part to make people choose them over something they wait all year for.
