Glad to provide a few grins. Your statement has raised more questions for me though. Since the term "tired arse statement" is a tired arse statement, does it create a never ending, swirling vortex, possibly effecting future weather patterns?
And shouldn't it be tired assed statement?

Exactly. Hell, even meteorologist don't deviate much from the NWS forecast. They usually just interpret it for their viewing area.
I don't envy their job. Perhaps they would be better off predicting temps between 60-75 degrees with sunny skies, that way people wouldn't accuse them of perpetrating a hoax.

If only you knew what all went into a forecast.

I for one would never have predicted that LNCHBOX would call someone stupid today.

Which is why it's interesting and informative to read the NWS forecast discussions. At the very least, for the few times they're wrong, at least you'll understand why they're wrong.

No they didn't. School officials did.
Like someone said earlier, National Weather Service was dead on where the freeze line was at least 24hrs in advance.

You can thank unknown for that.

If you did, where would it rank on things you remember when you are 90? I am guessing top 5.

Fin,has there been a decision made on what this little cold snap will do to crawfish prices and availability?

Yeah, I mean, it's not like they have to make that day up to get in 180 days of instruction before year end or anything.

I would love for you to legitimately try to disprove what I said.
But I'm sure you'll just make up another incorrect quote and think you're somehow right.

Thanks but I have a pretty good idea. I don't care that we didn't get any ice or sleet, never thought we would. So wheres all the rain they were calling for? Sure never saw any Saturday, Sunday, or yesterday though they kept screaming for it. Also had posted freezing rain advisories for all of southwest and central LA, never saw any reports of ice accumulations anywhere around those parts either. Pretty big bust if you ask me.

Schools have to be on the side of caution. Let one bridge be iced up and have a accident on a bus. Not enough insurance in the world to cover the law suits.

I am a meteorologist. I agree. The national weather service has dropped the ball a lot lately.
Too much emphasis on forecast models.

You think teachers and administrators of schools get to decide that? That's the superintendents call.
Exactly. Teachers don't get a single say in it and don't even find out about it until the students do. Administration is informed right before them, and again, no say. That is all on the Superintendent.
