The storms moving into LA now must be considered a win with respect to the afternoon threats. They'll eat up a good chuck of energy and keep the heating down.

It’s 60 degrees at my house in NWLa. Official temp out of Shreveport is 57. That’s gotta help with our survival of this day.

Woke up to heavy rain, thunder, lightning-nothing severe. In a lull at the moment.

Imagine it will get dicey as this system moves east given its healthiness

Out running errands and see the sun keeps trying to peek out between these low clouds. Apparently that’s a bad thing. Gonna boil a sack of bugs around noon and start pre gaming for the wedding.

daytime heating helps add to the instability that can turn storms severe (think about why we get those pop up thunderstorms in the summer)

with today's setup... the less sunshine... the better

Big win. The locations with the scary soundings were all pushing 70+ at noon.

Those storms are north of the surface warm front and the rain cooled air could slow the northward movement of the WF. South of the WF there is plenty of energy in the atmosphere and that will surge north this afternoon. There are actually some breaks in the clouds south of the WF.

Im in the Southern Loop/Ellerbe area in Souther Shreveport. Getting pretty dark to the south. Weird warm/cool breeze yet calm with thunder getting closer. Odd feeling

Looks like the surface warm front is roughly where I drew in the red line.
