I had a CEL that no scanner could read, it needed the MOPAR computer... low voltage on my satellite radio, not even ongoing, just one instance of it... I didn't have a sticker for 6 months because of it...

We don’t have inspection stickers in Colorado.

Louisiana has it so good and you don't even realize it. Imagine a world of Personal Property tax where you pay $800-$1500+ a year on a car you own. You people would have a heart episode
Or you could live in SW Washington and not have inspection stickers, vehicle excise taxes, income taxes, and even sales tax if you choose to shop across river in Oregon.

If Louisiana were to ever get rid of annual inspections, what would it mean for the parishes with the EPA emission testing? Would that still have to be done every year?
I agree it’s a racket. And it’s not even the money that annoys me. I’d gladly pay double the inspection fee on top of my registration just to avoid the headache.

There's usually an effort every couple of years. They'll have hearings, some hick small town sheriff or boomer gas station owner will come pitch a fit, bill gets tossed.

You'd sue him for not having an inspection sticker? Good luck proving that caused you a loss

She thought you were an auditor checking her inspection business because you were out of place.

I abolished them in my vehicle about 20 years ago. Still have yet to get a ticket for it.

Inspection stickers are racist

Oh, of course. That changes everything.

The “brake tag” in La is the dumbest shite.
The type of people that drive with lights out and fricked up windshields aren’t getting a new sticker anyway.

Each their own but if you were to be in an accident with me, or anyone in my family, I'd sue you.
There was a case recently where the sticker came into question after the accident and the station got held responsible because the car obviously shouldn’t have passed. Station had to pay a settlement. Could have been avoided if they’d failed it like they were supposed to.

Yes. Required by the federal government.

Yep. The argument would be the vehicle was not safe for operation on the highway and driver was negligent because they didn’t have it inspected. Gordon is on the lookout for expired inspection stickers on the vehicles of defendants of his cases. It has been used before.

Don’t forget having to get an inspection sticker for your trailer. Since they don’t have a sticker made to stick on your trailer like a decal, they give you an auto inspection sticker made to go on your windshield and you have to carry that in any vehicle that pulls that trailer. So if you pull it with various vehicles you have to remember to get the sticker out of the glove compartment and bring it with you in the other vehicle.
What a racket. Just another way to pull you over and score some more cash.
