Imagine hell. We're still living it here in Ark.

It is completely ridiculous and unnecessary, but I think my biggest issue is how big it is and where it's placed. Why does it have to be so big and on the front windshield?
It makes so much more sense to just add a little sticker to a license plate just like we do for registration.

I tried to be nice a few years ago and use a black business for a sticker. She went over with a fine tooth comb. Factory tint was questioned/ scanned. Ultimately denied for a light that was out on the license plate.
Mine just expired but I can’t get because of an 8 inch plus run. Which came from a rock on I 1110. For about the 4th time

LOL she did that because she thought you were the brake tag station popo. They pose as customers to see if the station is complying with the law. You do know why she thought that huh?

The solution is simple, add the cost of the sticker to the cost of your license plate. I would gladly spend the extra money to avoid taking the time to go and get an inspection.

Definitely a money grab by the state. I don't know what the station makes per car but I have to believe they get something for the time.
I see so many cars on the road that have illegal tint but inspection is good. (Not that I think the tint laws are good) Plus we are reported to have all these uninsured drivers, how are they getting inspected. Doesn't the insurance company forward this info to the DMV.
Put me in for the abolish the tags group.

I have a strategy to eliminate inspection stickers that will 100% work if the idea gets out there:
Inspection stickers are used by law enforcement to racial profile drivers.

I’m turning 40 this week and I’ve only had my vehicle actually inspected 1 time. And that was March of this year. 24 years of driving

If abolishing them is a popular opinion, why don't we make it happen?

It's a good time to not have one honestly. Law enforcement is stretched so thin your chances of getting stopped for that non-moving violation are even lower than ever.
PROTIP: If you do happen to be stopped and ticketed, go and get one and supply the city prosecutor or DA with proof and there's an incredibly high chance they'll dismiss the case. They, too, are balls to the wall busy with real cases.

That day going go the court isn't worth $20.
Besides being a money grab, it's an excuse for cops to pull you over. It's bullshite all around
Bennys on perkins denied my car because the windshield wiper left a streak on my window

We should send a link of these threads to our elected officials. Here is what people really think around here

If it is about the money, the state could just add a 10 dollars a year to registration costs. That way you can cut out Jim Bob and his registration business.
In the River parishes, I think, the inspections are required by the EPA to limit pollution. But, I think those are misguided when we are more worried about Joe’s Camry misfiring and expelling too much CO2 while we build a new plant along the river that would produce a million times more CO2.

Sweet sweet road tax. Ain't going anywhere. Bonus probable cause to pull you over adding an additional layer of road tax.
