What about synod says "bending teaching and tradition to appease a modern world"?

How about the final document leaving open the door for women in the diaconal ministry?

Trying to place women in a position reserved for men for 2,000 years would qualify as bending to the modern world, in my opinion.

ny ideas on Leo's views on the Latin mass? I hope he enthusiastically endorses it.

Prevost visited and signed off on removing Bishop Strickland from his diocese who was big on the Latin Mass.

He's a Villanova grad.

Imagine you are talking about your Universities most famous grads and you can claim The Pope.

One of the few positions of his that are very clear is that he is against Female Deacons.

He is known as a quiet, subtle man so he hasn't given out freely a lot of major positions

Use your gifts to spread the church of Christ does not mean bending teaching and tradition to appease a modern world.

Who said it did? You're reading the latter into it.

Sounds like a fine idea. Mary was pretty important.
Are we to think that women didn't serve in the early church?

You know the Catholic Church got billions of dollars from the US govt to help illegals live in this country, right?

Catholic charities- a ngo received that money. Go see how many bergs and steins are on their board.

My point is that the synod ultimately opens the door to bending tradition in favor of appeasing the modern world.

No system of thought in the history of the world has done more for women than Christianity.
May it continue.

Was Mary an apostle?

Of course they did. But they weren’t apostles.

Once again, we have an example of the modern world thinking they know better than 2,000 years of consistent church teachings.

Deacons are ordained members of the clergy.
