I'm sure someone did tell him that to mess with him, not that it matters. He was probably getting horsey with some deputy and they told him "we're gonna shock your arse with these if you don't settle down."

I don’t think he was charged with hate crimes. It clearly was a hate crime, but this is the country we live in today.
