I got blurry eyed when her son said his 5 year old daughter told him to take her grandmother with him to court for verdict.

Brooks' mother speaks. Says he is a caged bird. Video in link.

Still hoping we hear from some jurors.

I have some compassion on his mother but she obviously knew he was mentally ill because she making excuses for him. I would like to think she tried to get him help before he ultimately did what he did, but her pink hair tells me she probably didn't. And I know too well that mental illness is largely ignored anyway and there is no real help out there for people like him before they destroy things.

The reason I don't doubt his mental illness is no one does what he did that is not crazy. It makes no sense.

There is a difference between mental illness and rage. He may be a little off in some areas, being a sociopath is not necessarily a mental illness, however, it was his rage and anger that made him do this awful act.

True, his rage and anger were on full display during this trial for sure.

No doubt about that, he also was playing the victim card the entire trial. The most disgusting was during his opening and closing statements. He wanted the jurors to feel sorry for little ole Darrell and disregard the hundreds of families that were affected.

His bible beater talk during the closing disgusted me. I don't believe for a minute that he reads that bible as often as he claimed if at all. This guy is not a one time criminal. He has quite the resume. He could use some anger management training.

I would imagine this played a heavy role with the jury and why it took them almost as long to decide guilty on all counts as it took to go through 152 pieces of paper & correctly fill out the 76 forms that said 'guilty'

(Yes I believe the jury decided Tuesday night they were all voting guilty as charged on all counts & said let's just fill out the stack of papers 1st thing Wednesday morning)

This is an interview with two reporters who covered the trial. I haven't listened to all of it.

Interview

It was interesting at the beginning when they talked about the DA determining the charges to bring. One guy explained that they set certain parameters to determine which injured people would be included. He said the daughter of a friend of his had her foot run over by the SUV, but was not included in the charges.

I wonder if their names have been released yet. Seems like in some places, there is a waiting period on when their names are released or maybe they aren't released at all.

The juror could reach out to the news station of their choice or maybe ask the court to release their contact information on their behalf

Former judge says Dorow’s handling of the case was “masterful”.

Monday afternoon at 1 p.m., the Waukesha County Court has a hearing scheduled that will go over housekeeping matters in the trial, including sentencing.

Kind of ironic that Brooks asked to delay the hearing so his mom could be there but she gave an interview after the guilty verdict saying she won’t show up because it’s too hard
