I think she is going to complete the reading of the instructions and send them to the hotel for the night. She mentioned she wasn't going to keep them past 7.

This is done til tomorrow. They'll dismiss the jury and spend a couple minutes on bullshite after they're gone. Probably 9:00 am tomorrow...and I'll spend another workday from home as I've fallen down this rabbit hole.

I believe the DA said she didn’t want to get into the injuries and have them testify etc.

My guess is because it’s unnecessary if they get him on the murder with intent and they didn’t want to risk any non-guilty verdicts. They don’t want to give him the satisfaction.
