Imagine the amount of power that must be generated in order to get water from the Mississippi up over the Continental Divide.

It is probably less expensive to desalinate water from the Pacific Ocean right next door.

Some dude calculated something around 13 nuke plants would be needed with all of their output dedicated to the pipeline.

A google search will probably bring it up.

Brother Aub talking about desalination plants has the answer. The sorry Commies running the state want to spend the money that would solve the water issue on trannies and reparations.

Guarantee they will pipeline water from the Mississippi as quickly as possible. All regs will be fasttracked. Since these are blue states stealing from red states it will be accomplished. Doesn't matter how is affects the Mississippi or any of the bordering states.

The snow melt that will arrive this summer will be epic. I don’t think you can quite understand how much snow melt there will be this year. The rockies are still getting record snow fall.

Huntington is 90 miles from Sand Diego. That facility was indeed denied a permit in 2022

however what I posted is wrong, the Carlsbad Plant was completed in 2015 and refurbished and updated a few times since then

it provides 10% of the drinking water for San Diego

Multiply that by numerous other industries and we have a looming water shortage nobody's talking about.

Louisiana should mandate all industrial use comes from surface water and not wells. We do not lack surface water, it is just more expensive to condition it for use.

How many retention lakes did Cali build in the last 5 years in preperation for a wet snowy winter? They had the snowiest winter on record how much will drain to the ocean?
m
This is a major part of the issue. They lose so much water to the Pacific. If it was really an issue, they would save in wet times for use in dry times.

What about capturing some of the runoff from recent massive rainstorms in LV and LA?

California should just build desalination plants and power them with wind mills and solar panels.

That would be a failing enterprise, but try yelling them that and they'll call you stupid. I'm all for it.

I was only half serious. Desalination plants yes, but it will take more than wind mills and solar panels to power them. Gonna need some unicorn farts too, or maybe nuclear...shhh.

Instead of penalizing people for water usage, why not incentivis people to use less water. Like free water if you keep it under a certain amount of gallons every month.
