...Where were the famous people on the phones last year when So. Louisiana families lost 100,000 houses? Please remind me if they did it and I missed it, but it seems the pain and tradgedy of a bunch of mostly white people in So Louisiana wasn't of any concern to these folks...or Obama while he golfed in Martha's Vineyard..
Pathetic double standard

One was a named storm and one wasnt.

There wasn't a telethon for the South Carolina people the year before either.

It also seems kind of rude and disrespectful to the people that did donate time/money/energy. Sorry I wasn't famous enough for you.

None of that money will find the hands of real homeowners who need it. Not a dime.

The BR floods hurt a lot of people and there are still people trying to recover from it, but do you think the BR flood was just as catastrophic as hurricane Harvey?

People donated. Federal aid was given.

If you want to bring politics into it, wasn't people mad at President Bush after Katrina hit? What more can presidents really do other than approve federal aid and provide resources like the national guard?

Post Katrina killed any hopes of real relief for Louisiana in the future.

And I am sure liberals blame conservative, but I don't really see how that plays a factor. People like you (and they exist on both sides) blame the other side for everything. Everything that doesn't go right in the world it is the other side's fault.

I most definitely do, but I stick by my statement. With the exception of work, residents of Louisiana and LSU athletics, no one, nationally, has BR on their scope of fun shite to do. Don't be upset about it being a shite hole, y'all knock it day in and day out here.

People who visit New Orleans do so with one thing in mind, which they probably would like to forget all together.

Don't kill the messenger, but also don't wear blinders like these two cities, and the entire state of Louisiana, doesnt try to capitalize on being different and then wants to act run of the mill in desperate times.

I wonder if people realize that people aren't getting checks from these charities. At least Red Cross isn't involved.

OP....couldn't you just be happy that something is being done for those that have suffered from these recent storms? So if you feel people from the BR flood didn't get enough help...others shouldn't as well?

they mentioned some food programs

I trust this more than the RedCross

I mean I know people talk about how bad the Red Cross is,, then you witness it firsthand.

the reality defies the descriptions
