I ain't touching this thread with a 10 foot pole. My accumulation of watches is the douchiest thing about me that doesn't require me opening my mouth, and anyone who cares has seen a lot of it in the TGIF thread and previous partial collection pics. OP's unedited post set a timbre for the thread that makes it unredeemable. I can be tone deaf, but only when I choose to be.
To the OP, nice Gondola Annual (5135?). One of the few modern PPs I haven't seen in the wild.
I will include a pic of my watchmaking corner I think most would find it more interesting than a picture of a bunch of watches that just represent dollars vs a representation of a lifelong passion for horology.
A professional watchmaker would immediately recognize that as an amateur's bench because only amateurs like having a lot of tools out on display, a pro will only have the tools needed for a specific job out because they actually follow watchmaking hygiene and best practices.

Could have just posted this instead of pretending this was a watch thread. There have been multiple active watch threads in the last few weeks.

Unless you are constantly changing what watch you wear I have never really understood the need for a winder case. Seems like a lot of unnecessary wear on the movement to me. Be like leaving your car running when you are not in it.
They’re useful if you have a perpetual (and to a lesser degree annual) calendar watch, since they’re such a pain to set. Otherwise there’s not really a need.

I bought a Panerai 320 on my 40th birthday. Added a Rolex Batgirl a couple years ago and am about to add Speedmaster Pro. A vintage Sub is also in my future in a few years.
Love the ability to change straps on the Pam but it is huge. If I only had one watch it would be the Rolex GMT. Really excited to add a chronograph.

I helped admin a huge FB watch group. They were catching flak from FB because posters would post their watch and gun collections together. It was an interesting three years. A lot of "wrist roll" photos and posting. The showing off and arrogance would kill a lot of collecting groups. But, almost all the watch collectors participating were show offs so it worked very well. We never had the "showing off' and "bragging" complaints that we get as admins in other collecting groups.
For example, in old car and train collecting groups, stating your purchase price is almost always going to generate some complaints to the admins. But, the collectors would commonly post how much they paid. No problem, no complaints.
Honestly, a lot of the watch photos were off the same models. The interesting part of the pictures was often the other content - hot girls, some really nice collectible cars, etc.

wife picked this up for me a few months back.
great coffee table book and the stories of the people, their favorite watch, and how/why its special is fun to read. the stories are maybe 4-5 paragraphs or shorter so definitely 'coffee table' material.

I just bought one for when I get my Zodiac Moonphase back from service. A) setting it is a pain b) these watches will just randomly stop working if theyre sitting.

I have an early Rolex watch that is apparently not very valuable and which needs a little work. Parts aren't available so I can't get anyone to work on it.
