Anybody have good feedback on the ceramic pro? I've been tossing the idea around of getting my truck coated with it.

Anyone else have input on the ceramic coating that doesn't plastidip their vehicle?
I've been thinking about it too but don't want to spend the $2K if it's a scam.

It's less than 2 miles from my house. Adds 5 minutes to my trip home from the office.

To Kajun Kouyon and Shawnlsu, they have a few high end detailers in the BR area that use Modesta or some other coating.
Baton Rouge detailing and High Performance detail both offer ceramic coating packages.
The most detailed of these packages will include paint correction, polishing, and ceramic coatings. These types of treatments are easily worth a couple grand. If you want to research more, go look at those companies' work on their Facebook pages.
However I would only recommend doing this to your car if your paint is in pretty good condition already. If your paint is badly oxidized or has anything more than just Clear coat scratches it isn't worth spending that kind of money to protect something that's already been roughed up.
That being said, the coating itself is fantastic. It makes the surface of your car act hydrophobic, meaning water just beads off it, like it is freshly waxed. This will last 2-3 years if your car is properly cared for. It will also guard against clear coat scratches.
If I had a new car, I would drive straight from the dealership to one of these places.
I also have no loyalty with either of these businesses. I just think they do great work.

Geaux Clean. I drive way too many miles to be washing. I use it 2 to 3 times a week.

automatic wash every couple of weeks...$5 and about 10 minutes without me getting out of the car.

Do you do it by hand, automatic car wash, or a car wash where you wash it yourself?
I make my kids wash it while I sit in a lawn chair and point out the spots they missed. I've got to get some form of investment out of their asses because they sure cost a lot to raise them.

So I've heard that if you do have it coated then you don't have to wash it as often as usually. Just spray some water on it and it'll all fall off. Bugs, dirt, etc. is this true or just a marketing thing?

I do both, feel the auto never gets it clean enough for me, but I don't always have time to do it at home.

Biff comes over to my house. You gotta watch him though. Sometimes he only puts one coat of wax and tries to pass it off as two.

Has to be this. I'm just using Dawn & water. I may not be rinsing it off quickly enough after washing with the soapy sponge/mitt. Or changing the water in the bucket often enough while going around. It will look clean while it's wet, then dry with dirty water drop prints.
Dawn dish washing soap is your problem. Just like it removes the grease and grime from dishes it removes the WAX from your car. Some detailers use it as a pre-wash in order to remove old wax before applying new wax. No wax/sealant means less protection and more water drops.
Wash by hand starting with a foam gun and ending with single bucket method with grate on the bottom. Followed by detailer spray.
Just ordered some Wolfgang products for next weekend. I kind of enjoy the piece and quiet of working in the garage and getting the car clean.

Cars that are kept relatively clean, i.e. just dust/ road grime on a coated car will wash right off. If you have mud or anything other than basically pollen on your car it will still need to be lightly washed. But you can stretch your wash times from once a week to once every 2 or 3. Also no need to wax for at least 6 months
