Current set still works, but is probably on its last leg. We bought them slightly used 16 years ago. Whirlpool.
Any good deals on these suckers Thursday or Friday that would make me want to buy? I've heard nothing but negative about front load, so top is good with me.
Family of 4. Average 12 loads of laundry a week. Main concern is simply getting the clothes clean. I really don't care about anything else.

Whirlpool Cabrio. Got both on sale for around 1500 total at Best Buy. So much better than my Samsung

Sears is doing 40% off a lot of appliances for black Friday. You might check that out...

Depends on if you want an agiatator(sp?) or not and normal size of loads. You can pick up a 4.2 cu ft GE with accompanying 7.3cu ft dryer for under 1k.

Hotpoint.
If it doesn't click when you turn the knobs, expect to pay a lot to fix it.

dude do yourself a favor and go Speedqueen. You'll be amazed at how well they work.

i paid $745.00 for mine. Worth every penny. Washer does a load in 25 minutes flat and actually cleans the close and fully submerges them in water.
Where you at? What state?

I wish I could destroy every friggin Cabrio washer before it ever hit the stores so no one else would have to deal with this dreaded piece of shite. That was the biggest waste of money and piece of shite Ive ever bought. Look up the dreaded F51 code for the cabrio washer and see what everyone has to say. Theres a reason theres a huge class action lawsuit on these.
The dryer was great but we ended up selling that with the house just so we could get rid of it since it was a cabrio as well.
Now enough on my rant... we bought an LG washer and dryer and it has been great for thr past two years. We ended up replacing the piece of shite Cabrio with an LG as well and it was great. Please for your sanity, do not buy a cabrio.

I would buy the dryer that automatically folds clothes since I aint doing it for ya.

Yowzer! Thanks for the info. I wonder if the whirlpool (non Cabrio) is just as bad?

The best decision of my life and I'm a tightwad cheapskate, but don't regret this purchase for a second.

Just make sure you get a set with ZERO electronics. These companies use cheap calculator like chip boards and then charge out the arse because it looks hip and modern

I bought a washer like the one pictured in the Lowes ad. Barely lasted 2 years. Now have Speed Queen.
