This. I used to tell people to stay away from Whirlpool VMW platform washers (Cabrio, Bravos etc) but they have gotten much better.

I would stay away from Samsung and GE, everything else is a push. Also even the cheapies have computer control.
I condemn a lot of 3-5 year old machines for control failure. Who is going to pay $350 to fix a $399 machine?

Speed Queen is hands down THE best washer dryer brand and it's not even close. Speed Queen is like a Tacoma or a Wrangler. Not the best looking units but you can put high miles on them and they keep their value so repairs are worth it down the line.

People now want the best looking and the most features and that is a huge mistake.

A lot of people say "get a Kenmore mine lasted two decades" And that's fine, a 110.xxxx Kenmore 20 years ago was a Whirlpool Direct Drive, the simpliest of machines and last forever. A Kenmore now could be a Frigidaire, could be a Whirlpool or could be a LG, you only know if you look up the first three numbers in the model number.

Whirlpool Cabrios now are better that the hall sensor has been removed and the seals aren't prone to failure. Really the Whirlpools from 05-14 are usually always have either a lid switch failure or a hall sensor failure. Problem is those parts cost a lot more now and the labor to put them in is long. Sure a bearing is only $45 but it takes two hours of straight labor to put it in.

My parents had a whirlpool for 20+ years and it was great. Thats why we bought the Cabrio. We thought it would be great to have a top load washer with the size of a front load. Live and learn I guess.

The first service call was ok. Then about a month later it was the same code. So I started searching the code and I was amazed at the shite that came up about the lawsuits and how whirlpool wasnt any help to anyone if they didnt have the extended warranty past 12 months. Ours started having thr problems at 14 months and noticed through the research that all these people were having the same issues around the same general lifespan.

F51 is a bad hall sensor, if it's making a noise as well it's a bad bearing. Best to change both out at the same time.

The bearings on older cabrios start to fail and it makes a jet engine noise. The hall sensors are shite on those machines.
About as bad as the shift actuators on the cheaper Whirlpools.

Two weeks into my speed queen washer and dryer. Just fantastic. It doesn't have a built in sink and it doesn't tickle my balls, but they clean and dry the shite out of clothes.

You know, like a washer and dryer are intended to do.

And my wife isn't an uppity bitch that wants designer appliances.

Just Google the video comparing a Maytag washer vs a Speed Queen washer...........Then come back and thank all those telling you Speed Queen. Most laundry mats use Speed Queen. Why? We had a $1000+ LG for 14 months. It was a piece of junk, always out of balance. Gave it to the church thrift store. All these eco water HE machine wash your clothes in a poodle of water, not SQ it fills up full.
