We had a 1980 Ford LTD wagon. Land Yacht. I remember it had the electric back window and the back would open from the side or drop down like a tailgate.

I kinda like those...the red ones with the wood-like panelling.

Cramming your family into these babies was more fun

My Uncle was way ahead of his time buying a 1976 AMC Pacer to complement his office supplies buriness in Birmingham. That car was weird and different yet really cool.

I’ll never forget this thing. Every summer For a few years road trip to Destin. Me and my brother sleeping on a pallet in the back playing with He-Man toys and M.U.S.C.L.E men. My older sister listening to Prince, WHAM, Men at Work, The Bangles. Dad and Mom arguing about riding with the windows open vs AC on.

Different times.

ETA. Not this one but one just like it.

Country Squire

A friend’s family had one of these. The “S” fell off so we called it the “Country Queer.”

Shooting finger guns at other cars, getting 18 wheelers to honk...and no USB outlets!

Love those old Wagoneers.

When I was in junior high we had a 1970 Olds Vista Cruiser, very much like the one in That 70s Show.

455cid, 4 bbl carb, with the skylight over the 2nd row of seats. I remember you could be going about 25-30, punch the pedal and leave a scratch.

Wouldn't mind having that old tank back.

Very much like this one, only it was burgundy with the brown faux wood on the side.

They are ugly, but the perfect family car. My family had one.. A gray one. That was the first vehicle I remember my parents having and we hand it until I was in high school.

It seemed like people use to keep their vehicles longer back then. Not sure if its just something I perceive, but my dad passed away when I was 20 years old, he only had 2 trucks during that time and the only reason he got the 2nd truck was because he got hit by an 18 wheeler and totaled it.
