Every time I pass a Chili’s in LA, it’s just as packed with fat pigs and screaming children filling their face with slop as a Chili’s anywhere else in the states.
People on here want to pretend living in LA means eating gumbo and fried catfish every day while a jazz band plays, but in reality most here are just paying through the for mediocre private schools and and eating/shopping at the same quality of places you can find in Iowa.

The problem is the missing non-industrial upper middle class.
Go to DFW and you’ll see corporate regional or national headquarters left and right full of people making $100K. Those kinds of national or regional headquarters - Toyota, Farmers, Liberty Mutual, Texas Instruments, IBM, Google, Apple, non-warehouse coding-driven branch offices of Amazon, etc just don’t locate in Louisiana at all, so there’s a brain-drain leaving behind only industrial, government and farming jobs.
Louisiana has doctors and lawyers in the same abundance as other states, some entrepreneurs and its share of old money millionaires too, but what it doesn’t have are many $100K workers who don’t work in a plant or offshore. That kind of person grows on trees in Atlanta, Houston, DFW, Austin, even Nashville and Charlotte now.

Not mad, I would just love for Louisianians to wake up and stop excusing the problems with the state. I would love to have LA be an awesome state to be proud of.
Yet people on here seem to believe that they are living some unique life that means the state has to have a bunch of shite wrong for “culture.”

If you have ever had to deal with Louisiana politicians in an official capacity and then deal with politicians in other states then you will realize just how bad things are in Louisiana.

Lived in Dallas, Austin (downtown for 7 years), and Miami baw. Big deal. You got money you have a certain lifestyle anywhere. If you don’t you move to Texas and claim you have made it big.

Don't defend yourself. These folks live in delusion. After I graduated high school, I rolled the frick on out.
For the low low price of ~150 bucks I can fly into MSY and go experience New Orleans (not that 18 years wasn't enough) and fly back to my suburbian metropolis where I get more while also paying less.

Everything you type just makes you seem like you’re really miserable. It’s like you’re mad that people can find happiness in a place like LA and you’re trying to convince them of how unhappy they are supposed to be.
