Depends, was he in fear for his life? Yes then it wasn't a cheap shot. Was he just scared of taking an arse whipping? Yes then it was a cowardly bitch arse move.

No. There is no "fair" in a street fight. Debo had 40 pounds on him. Debo was the bully. He didn't shoot or stab him, but he won the fight by any reasonable means necessary.

Ace you're a lawyer. Didn't you read my brick story. Isn't there something to be said for the fact that the fight was already over and Debo had essentially left him uninjured?

Yeah, buddy - some days, I think so, too.

I did not. (ETA: Okay, now I have.)

Yes. At some point, a person who would have been considered the victim of battery (at least in Louisiana) at the onset could be deemed the aggressor, if the original batterer stops or is defeated and the fight continues.

However, as a practical matter, you have to convict based on evidence beyond a reasonable doubt. Most prosecutors and juries are going to err on the side of Craig in this case. He has no history of violence, didn't start the fight, etc. After they interview the witnesses, they won't pursue anything beyond misdemeanor fighting (assuming that's comparable in California) or disturbing the peace.

Just too much risk in that prosecution, plus, as a general rule, they don't like prosecuting the good guys. But, theoretically, he faced some criminal exposure for the brick.

(My response was more "man code" type stuff. You get into it with me, and tower over me like a building, baw? You might just get kicked in the nuts and hit in the head with a brick. That's how "I roll" - as the kids say.)

Debo beating up Felicia I think allows the brick to be in play. However Debo was definitely more honorable by not even considering the use of his shiv and immediately handing it to Ezell.
