1984 was the best Topps QB rookie cards selection all time:

Marino
Jim Kelly
Elway
Ken O’Brien

Saw some random videos here and there and shocked that no one was fat. What I used to call fat in the 80's would pass for today's average PE coach

Capitalism was all the rage. Even libs wanted to make fat stacks working for corporations back in the day.

Nerds were nerds and not celebrated

Ahhhhhh 1984. I graduated HS, went to Senior trip on the beach, got in my pos Camaro and drove to Boston, NY, Canada etc. with like $750 in my pocket. By September I was fratting hard at LSU with beer trucks on the front yard and absolutely no rules . I probably went to 10 concerts, 10 mlb games all over the east coast, made lifelong friends that I talk to daily/weekly, met my gorgeous college gf, cast my first vote for Ronald Reagan, stayed AIDS-free, cut the cord with my parents- it was glorious.

Can I go back please?

The country was finally shaking off the hangover of the Sixties and Seventies. There was a visceral sense of change in the air.

The very few people in my HS that we thought were fat would be normal today.

I think 1986 or 1987 were more 80s.

I don't find that list particularly impressive, and you forgot the Damn strongest movie of that year: Amadeus.

My pic from above was from the commercial that garnered more attention than the product.
