Was 1924-2024 the biggest leap in technology ever in a span of a century?

Think back to where society was 100 years ago. Think where we are now. Would you say the last hundred years was the biggest growth in terms of technology and innovation ever? There are many many examples, the biggest being computers and the Internet of course. Think about this:
The modern air conditioner was invented in 1902, but realistically, how many homes had A/C in 1924 compared to now?
That’s just one example us Southerners can really appreciate lol. Give me some examples why you think this last century was the most significant.

Is this a serious question?

It's exponential
Think about it this way.
Armies from antiquity, roughly, weren't far from equivalent to armies 1000 years later.
Sure, there were improvements like chainmail and stirrups and improved missile weapons, but you could take say 2 armies of 10,000, 1000 years separated, and it would still mostly come down to tactics.

Without argument it was the fastest.
The motivations are crazy as well
War pushed us to the moon
Then the internet pushed scientists to share ideas at a level never seen before in history.
I believe next century will advance even faster as we enter the Age of Quantum. AI and Quantum computing will revolutionize medicine, communication, and transportation

We can kill dudes with Samurai swords thousands of miles away with a kid that’s a buck fifteen and wacks off 7 times a day.
Yes biggest leap

Just the last 60 years have been insane. We got a/c in our house in 1965. Two years later we got it in our school. We got our first color TV in 1966. Push button phone in 1967. We put men on the moon in 1969 with Univacs that took up whole buildings that my Iphone is more powerful than.
That Roswell incident back in 1947 sure shifted a lot of things.

A better candidate is 1869 to 1969.

Agreed - the car, plane, and phone all invented in about 25 years by 1903.

Have we considered we really don’t know all the technology we currently have?
It’s very hard to make an overall case when we really don’t know, imo.

Yep. Just think about a guy born in 1890.
At 10 years old, he would have shopped at the general store with his parents, riding on a horse and carriage. At 79 years old, he would have seen the moon landing.

This is going to come down to semantics. Which technological advancement was in fact the biggest advancement? I honestly don’t have a clue but it’s fascinating to ponder.

Agreed. In 1869 we had just completed the transcontinental railroad, still had close to a decade of Indian Wars left, and the light bulb was still 10 years in the future.
1969 - Moon Landing. Airplanes are not that fundamentally different than in 1969. Computers are far faster and more powerful than in 1969, but they were still around then. Cell phones and internet - cool, but I think the technological changes in the first half of the 1900's were much larger.

I’d probably go with 1860-1960.
At least in terms of America. From slave plantations to jet engines and nukes.

My mom was born in 1948 and did not have indoor plumbing until she went to college.
But that’s mostly because her dad was kind of an ahole.

Widespread electrification continues to be the under-rated most relevant invention of the past 150 years.
Most people just have no idea how fricking DARK the world was before that.

Kitty Hawk to creation of the internet has many more innovations than 1924-2024. Not much has really moved the needle in the last 10 years, with the exception of AI.
