I lived in Texas from 1997-2001. Those areas have at least been under construction since that time.

But will post more on this later as I owe some Texan in white F250 truck. We are 10-W about 20-30 minutes from bucees, and it’s like 2 am or so, ( I already decided to get hotel in Houston for night. ), not many cars on the road. I am driving wife’s new Mercedes, still with paper tag. I notice this kid in blue late model Malibu driving erratically, like trying to pull right next to us like to drag race then shooting off etc. It’s obviously been modified. I dust him a few times but he keeps coming back. Then he us on the passenger side and guns off burning rubber right in front of us and turns car sideways, like he is attempting to block us. As he started to get out the car, and I begin to take steps to end his life, a good old boy in a pick up truck from behind us lights him up with his brights and I think hits his horn and he panicked and hauled arse off an off ramp.

All this took maybe 2 minutes total. My wife says he looked over at her grinned and then pulled this shite.

I wanted to call cops etc but she just wanted to get to hotel.

You guys tell me what the hell was going on? She is convinced he wanted to car jack us. That wasn’t going to happened

That is federal intervention. I know of which area you speak. Senator Foghorn Leghorn had to get $25 million in emergency funding from the federal DOT to get that shite going. If you got on I-12 westbound @ 190 you were taking your life in your own hands.

I’ve gone back and forth to the beach 4 times in the past month and a half and the only traffic issue I’ve hit was in mandeville. Mobile has been fine

Every five or so years I get the bug to do a road trip either to an LSU game or to NOLA. I find it shocking how the roads haven’t changed from when I attended LSU back in the 1980’s. They’re practically identical to how they were nearly 40 years ago.

Huh? They’ve been surprisingly decent at the rate of construction considering how much water we’ve been getting.

I’ve lived in Houston since 1998. That area has been under constant construction since I’ve been here.

They’ve been doing construction on this so long the roads the roads they built to divert traffic now need to be worked on. It’s ridiculous.

No kidding.

Between Beaumont and Orange, TX has been a construction site since at least 1992.
