You hear all the time about bad actors doing shite to cars in parking lots to try to get drivers/shoppers distracted to rob/harm them (usually Facebook/TikTok) and I have routinely shrugged them off.

Put new tires on Mrs. udtiger's ride about 2 months ago and Tuesday evening as she was leaving Target she got a low pressure light on one of her tires. Told her she had enough air to get home and I figured it was just the cold, so I pumped it and the other tires up. Next night (last night) it had dropped again into mid 20s (others firm at mid 30s).

Bring it in this AM to get it checked. Three shards of what appears to be a broken razor blade or boxcutter blade in different parts of the tread. She had been at the mall and a few other box stores on Tuesday, so the working theory is some a-hole was trying to get her to get out of her car to look at her tire.

Be careful out there.

Or maybe your wife just ran them over

Why wouldn't they use a nail or knife? Much easier

You think that's more likely than an amigo losing a box of box cutter blades on the highway and your wife running over it while snap chatting her boyfriend?

Always carry. If she's not comfortable with guns, get her bear spray

While possible, those tend to be flat and thin (i.e., laying flat).

Thats probably it. I'll let her know. She'll be relieved.

You just ran over it on the road.

I once had a razor bled embedded into my bumper like someone threw it like a ninja throwing star. I didn't think it was a failed ninja assignation attempt...

Lololololololol

Maybe, or it could be since she didn't get out the opportunity wasn't there.

It isn't necessarily a matter of whether an event has happend or not, those posts freaking out are often based in some form of truth. What makes you to "routinely shrug them off" is the fact that people don't understand or refuse to acknowledge scale and try to get you do believe that what has happened to them is happening everywhere and everyone is in danger. Nefarious things do happen, as may be the case with your wife (unlikely from the description), but as long as you just keep your head on a swivel, the vast majority of people will be fine.

If in the sidewall, maybe? If only in the tread, its REALLY hard to believe a dude tried to work a razor blade, with his bare hands, into the tread of a brand new tire.
