I enjoy Condon for entertainment. Rarely do I agree with shite he says, but he's local and talks about local stuff more than national stories. He's loyal to New Orleans and Baton Rouge. I can dig it.

They were really trashing 98.1 today. Said 98.1 wanted to cut their pay and told them to leave so they did, then asked them to come back after they had already signed with 1150. Basically said the new guy in charge over there is an idiot and doesn't know how to do business. Also they should be getting on local Lafayette station fairly soon. I imagine it will be whichever one is owned by iheartmedia.

Walton & Johnson will now be on in Lafayette on 105.1 starting next week. They previously carried the Free Beer and Hot Wings show, which was decent but a ton better than W&J.

98.1 is actually a refreshing change. Music in the morning and in the afternoon. Condom does a rant from time to time. but, otherwise mostly music.

Yep, huge improvement. Unfortunately, 97.7 was converted to WJBO so I lost one of my presets that actually played music :bang head:

Exactly what I have been thinking so far this week. I'd bet that Condon has been told to keep it toned down for a while during the adjustment period, but even so, I enjoy hearing the music. In fact, I've found myself still waiting for the song to be cut off about 10-15 seconds in and the W&J voices to start up.

W&J moving effects the Michael Berry show. So I just listen on heart on KTRH. And W&J were pretty good in the early 90's

According to Planet Radio's facebook people are pretty pissed that they've ditched Free Beer and Hot Wings for Walton and Johson. I'd imagine this was strictly a money move for them to gather up the audience that now no longer listen to 98.1 since ditching W&J but they've downgraded considerable.
