Yep, they put them in the rooms furthest away from everything to get the occupancy of those rooms up.

Exactly... it also helps that TiW includes alcohol... just a little...

Yeah, I never really used it when we went to the different lounges, but certainly helped with wine purchases and for my Lost on Safaris from the Dawa Bar when we ate at Tusker House.

I think we're going to give the ddp another try since the changes on a short trip we're thinking about next fall. I always hated the lack of flexibility

Dining plan is just OK, IMO. The value has really declined from when it first debuted. The only way I'll get it now is if it's offered free with vacation package purchases. But even then, if the room discounts at the same time are good enough, I'll take that over the DDP. When it first came out, you got an app, entree and dessert per person WITH gratuity included. THAT was worth it IMO.

Agree, it was a much better value circa 2005 and now that refrigerators are standard in all resort rooms, it makes eating breakfast in the room or on the go even easier.

We usually try and stick to close to the same budget, but each trip we spend our money a little differently. Sometimes we save on resort and spend more in dining. Or less park tickets and add water park tickets, etc.

What does it offer now, just an app on entree? Or is it an entree and dessert? I know that gratuity is no longer included.

I have to factor in price, so that being said my top three are 1 - Boardwalk 2 - Yacht Club/ Beach Club 3 - Bay Lake

We got an unbelievable deal on DVC resale. It was one seller and we had to buy both Beach Club and Bay Lake (package deal).

The entire Beach Club/Boardwalk area is my favorite and the access to Epcot cant be beat. We usually end up strolling the kids around Epcot every night until they pass out while the wife and I have our nightly drinks.

Heading there for Food & Wine in a few weeks.

That's easily my favorite event Disney does. And this year it has even expanded in to Future World from what I've read.

Smart arse. Why don't you hook me up with some of your baller dvc points?

My husband prefers mountain vacations so the (grown) kids and I have to fight for disney trips so it is not worth buying in. My parents have a time share in Orlando and we can stay there but disney to me means staying on property.

I actually prefer Flower and Garden Festival. They've expanded the food options like crazy for this event and the crowds are a good bit smaller.

Never been to that...so I can't make an assessment. Definitely on the list.
