Yes. Teenagers are underage and what reason should a teenager have to be out that late???

Kind of telling that a poster with “Law” in his name has zero idea what due process is.

Yeah but a friend of mine who's a doctor found himself in a similar situation last year, it's horseshite.

The guy was driving perfectly fine, and a girl crosses over and hit him head on, and he supposed to be the one at fault?

A 17 year old driving at 1 am is quite normal. Do you expect the 17 year old to be home before midnight on NYE?

By Louisiana law, 17 yr olds cannot drive alone between the hours of 11pm - 5am. (must have family member over 21 in the car)

Its for this reason I allowed my daughter to go to a party last night, but she rode with a friend to the party and I picked her up after midnight. No way I was allowing her to drive or one of her immature friends drive her after the party.

My wife and I used to enjoy drinking and partying on NYE (and weekends for that matter) but after our child became driving age, one of us remains sober and available for anything that can potentially pop up to account for poor teen planning.

It has proven itself to be a good idea a few times.

Why are you driving at 1:00 am?

Because we celebrated NYE at midnight.

It’s not an excuse, it’s THE REASON.

You shouldn't get a DWI (driving while intoxicated) when you were driving while intoxicated?

It's been mentioned that the father posts here. For that reason I think we should refrain from speculating about "should have-could have" scenarios.

Well, if he knows what this place is like and he voluntarily chooses to logon then that’s on him.
