What in the world happened? Went in to grab some cold meds. Only saw two employees between the pharmacy and front checkout. Had to call someone hiding in the back to come help check people out.

At first, I thought it was one of those self checkout set ups with only one employee making sure no one steals the place blind.

Sheesh. The future looks dim in that area of retail.

It's terrible.

No employees, shite is way overpriced, and if you're ever stuck behind someone in line it takes 20 min to check out because they're filing through their coupons trying to save 50 cents on toothpaste.

It's truly a terrible shopping experience.

I never have this issue on my rare occasions shopping there because it seems like few people shop there anyway. Which, CVS looks the exact same. Not sure how they're remaining open.

Got tired of their impersonal service years ago and switched to a local pharmacy and it’s better all the way around

I can get my prescriptions delivered and special concoctions that the pharmacist works up for me from time to time

The national chains really bring nothing to the table other than location

I was not aware of this.

I do know you can't buy Sudafed (pseudephedrine) at any store without going to the Pharmacy.

If you're buying over the counter i.e. off the shelf it's not Sudafed. It's phenylephrine which is not nearly as effective.

The one by me is a disaster. I needed some meds because my allergies are killing me and they basically outsource everything now and it takes days to get anything filled unless you go up there and wait. And they’re so fricking lazy that everything takes forever. I’m done with them and switching to Kroger.

Except that they’re closed on Sundays when I needed them most. But service + delivery sounds amazing.

Isn’t Amazon offering prescription delivery now?

Don’t know the last time I went to a Walgreens. It’s alway got a long slow line. I joined the CVS program and if I need drug store items, use my app and savings. Not uncommon for me to purchase $40 worth of items and pay under $20. Sometimes maybe $5.

The one I used in Memphis would frequently have one person in the pharmacy helping inside and drive thru and the line was enormous.

Switched to a local mom and pop pharmacy last year and the difference is night and day. Walk in pickup a scrip out in a minute. CVS and Walgreens always seemed to have issues with insurance, a lot of meds unavailable, etc etc. Perfect example of corporate stupidity verse local business and yet people still support these fools.
