Well I don't want to get Covid by waiting to get testing for Covid in an Urgent Care

Don't know about your specific area, but for the most part all medical facilities follow these steps:

You walk in, or call to make an appointment
If they cannot put you in a room right away they give you the option of waiting in the lobby or sitting in your car.
They will then call you for the triage (see why you are there).
Once a room is open, they call you so you can wait in the room.

Some UCs look at the triage report and proceed to the next steps. Others redo the entire triage process with a nurse in the room.

They gave her a swab and said insert it a half inch
Well at least she's had plenty of practice with that

My kid had to get tested on Wednesday and his pediatrician told me the test (which was negative) is 90% accurate.

Walgreens offers at least two different types of Wuhan virus tests and they have different rates of reliability. Either you misrepresented or misunderstood what your kid’s pediatrician told you or your pediatrician is ignorant related to the testing offered by Walgreens.

Going to a place that takes 45 minutes to fill scripts from understaffing sounds like a great place to get a covid test

This has to be the one on Burbank and Bluebonnet. The most incompetent people in BR and I will put them up against the Burger King on Highland.

Don’t get tested with no symptoms, then you wouldn’t waste maxed out healthcare system time. I’ve had less than 10 patients over the past year + with no symptoms out of thousands of tests. I’m still recovering, day 16 or so since +. You will feel like shite trust me

Sounds like you went to the wrong store. I did this and it was pretty streamlined

This line of thinking would have saved our country.

I think the clear answer is for these people not to have jobs, but also not to have money. There's a certain symmetry to it that makes sense.

You made a false statement, there have been numerous studies indicating asymptomatic carriers of COVID 19 are just as infectious as symptomatic individuals with COVID 19. You should do your research

Just find an urgent care location that offers the rapid test and go there. You'll have results in 15 minutes, which is enough time for your eyes to stop involuntarily crying after having your brain tickled.

Agreed...

I did the same when I came in close contact with someone that tested positive.

The only thing is the rapid test is considered only about 80 percent reliable.

But it is better knowing now, than waiting for the 2 or 3 days for the lab to pick up your test kit and test it there.

With the holidays past us, there should be a steady decline of positive cases. With other events like Mardi Gras postponed or cancelled, there should be less community spread of COVID.

Like everyone says, COVID deaths among younger people under age 60 are possible, but not widespread.

I think media has driven people's fears of the virus to make it worse than actually catching it. You have people who catch it or test positive for it and they believe that it is a death sentence.

From what I have seen and heard, 90% of the population that catch it, it is an inconvenience to them because they can't work even though they feel well.

The other 5% may fall ill to stay home for work for a few days. The other 4% may need hospitalization and the other 1% is where your deadly cases are.

I would like to see some medical studies that show any correlation to a certain genetic disposition that makes some people more prone to certain strains of the virus. I would like to also see studies on the different strains of COVID that have evolved since the start of the pandemic and if any mutations have weakened or enhanced the virus. Also, I would like to see rapid testing to see which strain of the virus that people have to get a better understanding of the virus.

Theoretically, we are one year into this pandemic and while we have a vaccine and numerous ways to treat the most severe cases, there is still much not known about this virus.
