Do you think this will hurt their profits with their plan to use solar energy?

Maybe they can start by not putting each individual item you buy in its own plastic bag.

I wish we as a nation and/or species could endeavor to advance our future simply because we want to leave our children a better place than what was given to us. We don’t need a “climate change” boogie man to scare us into doing the right things. Why can’t we strive for renewable energy simply because it makes great sense for people and the earth. Besides, did you dream of the future and imagine clogged interstates pumping fumes everywhere, or did we dream of limitless energy usable for trips to mars or across the galaxy.

Great post.

Renewable energy and conservation should be goals we work towards because of the intrinsic value in a cleaner planet.

By attaching politics to the matter it just turns into one giant pissing match where most people who support the "war on climate change" don't actually take any actions that are congruent with the goal.

It is just a political weapon.

As for the op, I am all for Walmart using solar panels on their roofs and parking structures. And implementing energy saving lights I side and out.

In Arizona and parts of NM many Walmarts, big retailers, and schools have covered parking that doubles as a solar farm.

Solar is not a perfect alternative yet but there has been a lot of progress in the last 10 years.

Money. It’s cheaper and more profitable for corporations to pollute. Until that changes, nothing will.

The climate has been changing for millions of years, and it's going to keep changing.

Not this dumb shite again. There’s a direct correlation between our carbon output and increasing temps. There’s literally no question about that.

Intelligent response.

Our effect on the climate getting warmer is very small. Pollution is a different matter. Take people out of the equation and the climate will continue to get warmer. Be thankful you're not living in an ice age.

I've always wondered how much energy would be produced if every Wal-Mart in the US had solar panels covering their roofs.

The outline of California in their ad, and overseas store expansion are the reasons for this. Aiming for good publicity in areas where they need help.

In our lifetime but in the future we will control the weather. We have to take steps now to get there. If we don’t we will disappear as a species.

Look up the Kardeshev Scale. That is the reason I think we should advance in renewable energy. It isn’t about politics. It is about longterm survival.

Wait when they figure out oil is a renewable energy.

They’re certainly a leader in polluting the planet with plastic waste. Drive through a Walmart parking lot sometime and pay attention to the plastic grocery bags.

The science is not strong in this thread. Nor common sense.

Climate change is real

It's just perhaps a bit over inflated

A lot but it's more efficient to use designed solar arrays than rooftop
