America's biggest Nazi partnering with VW. Definitely.

All things considered, even cheating at the tests their quality is still better than Ford and Chrysler Fiat.

Usually when companies like this merge the brands remain distinct

Those the diesels from the emissions scandal
Yep. The sad thing is that those are excellent cars that consumers would love to buy, but they're not allowed to sell them, so they have to just sit in these holding lots and rot. It's a real shame that so many affordable, fuel-efficient, reliable vehicles are being kept off the market by our wonderful government regulators in the U.S. and EU.

the TDI Touareg are great.
That's a crossover on a car chassis, not an SUV which would be on a truck frame. The Volkswagons are doing great with everything on a car chassis, but floundering to produce truck-based vehicles. Ford has the opposite problem.

Before the elimination of the Touraeg and the introduction of the Atlas, VW at the Tiguan and the Touareg....So what vehicles are you talking about?

I think Ford would be a huge drain on VW.

Yep. When they finish killing all those craptastic Ford cars, trucks will be all they have.

Maybe GM can substantial stakes in ford. That would give Ford an avenue into China, and would give GM a back channel into Western Europe.
I don’t like the idea of yet another struggling American car company to be under European leadership.

they eliminated the touraeg because it sucked balls.
my son was a VW mechanic for a year and he would come home and laugh about how crappy the current VWs are..the touraeg was literally a steaming pile of shite. the local VW in brentwood TN has tons of 15, 16, 17 & 18 touraegs in all the configs (hybrid, diesel, gas, etc.) still sitting around in random parking lots because they all need some kind of EXPENSIVE SERVICE so they can be sold due to the emissions scandal and other shitty problems. the dealer can literally only get to a few of them at a time and then they're put on the lot and sold as 'new'.
he said he'd rather gouge his eyeballs out than do an oil change on a touraeg.
i cant remember if its the atlas or not but one of the newer vehicles has a PLASTIC oil pan.
what coud possibly go wrong?

The Focus may be the worst car on the market today. The ancient Taurus isn't far behind. There is a reason Ford is giving up on cars. They suck at it.
Now cmon baw...that’s just dumb! The Fusion is a solid sedan, Mustang is killing Camaro right now, the Focus ST is a great ride, Taurus SHO was good. There are several cars that are far worst including Chevy Sonic.

Ford is struggling in every market but the F-150 pickup. Even their crossovers and SUVs are getting curb stomped by the Japanese and General Motors.

This Taurus generation was a shite car when it was introduced 9 years ago. It hasn’t gotten better with age.
