Three completely different vehicles and use cases. Out of those choices, if you are all planning to ride together get the Atlas.

I know it wasn’t an option, but have you looked into Acura?

Bought my wife an RDX awd, and I like it. I’m 6’1” and plenty of legroom- although I don’t sit in the back.

Why are you comparing an SUV and a pickup truck?

Don’t quite understand why you’re choosing between the two. If it was an atlas vs a Toyota suv I could she the question. If you want the truck, get the Tacoma. If you want a suv, go with the atlas. I’ve never owned either but wife (no pics) has a 4-runner and had a Passat diesel, yes the one with the emission problem. I loved the VW but once it hit a certain mileage the maintenance got out of hand. Traded it in on a Jeep to get ride of the expenses. She loves her 4-runner and I’m getting her a new one when the new design comes out

Anecdotal but we've had an Atlas for 6 years now with almost 100k miles. Had a few minor recalls but they were fixed same day under warranty. Replaced front brakes twice, backs once, tires twice, battery once. Water pump started leaking last month but that's the only major repair we've had to make.

Biggest gripe is 1st gear is a little unresponsive/jerky, but mine is a 2018 and I've driven newer models that don't have that issue

It has a ton of interior room. 2nd row is comfortable, 3rd row can actually accommodate adult sized people.

Just my 2 cents: if your wife's company is giving her a car allowance because of an executive level promotion, a truck probably isn't the way to go. I have no opinion on the Toyota Crown Signia because I have no clue what that is

Her initial choice was the Tacoma and I found the Atlas. The Crown Signia seems to be a decent Toyota comparison for the Atlas. We bought a Rav4 in February and she loves it. I think our two decisions will be truck vs SUV and then if we go with a SUV, Atlas vs Crown Signia. She is dead set against the 4Runner and a Benz or BMW "isn't [her]".

Yes. That was another thing that I forgot to mention. The company pays for VPs to update their vehicle every 5 years.

That's one of the very few cases where I would say get the one that she likes the most and has all the bells and whistles that she wants.

The only other case in which I would buy a German (or European) car is if you were a multibillionaire who is going to be switching luxury cars every 2 to 3 years anyway and never have to worry about resale value.

The one downside of Toyotas is that they’re always a few years behind on the bells and whistles. Even Lexus lags behind. If you were just looking for a car based on all the neat bells and whistles and how it looks, then getting a German car (or even a Chrysler) is a more appealing option.

Thanks for all of the input. We ruled out the Tacoma after looking at the tight 2nd row leg space. She's going to be getting the Crown Signia Limited. (Toyota's hybrid mid-sized SUV version of the Crown Sedan.) The only drawback is that it's only been out for a couple of months so real world reviews are sparse. We've been happy with our Rav4 and the trade-in value of Toyotas after 5 years is much higher (she'll have the same allowance + the trade-in value).
