You know, that, or it’s complete bravado to make opponents uneasy but from an arms length… cause he has fricks to give.

Good luck with that. Who is gonna do the nut cutting? Is this really a shite pile we want to step in? I don't disagree that Putin is about to go full retard, however, if we get into a full scale confrontation with his crazy arse we will get the full bore shitstorm from China too.

The cold hard truth of the matter is its time for Ukraine to sue for peace. Their military is being slowly ground down and they have no hope of reversing the situation on the ground via military means. No good purpose can be served by continuation of this war. Its time to end it before it spirals out of control and sucks in NATO. If we had actual leadership in Washington they’d be taking steps to end this war. Instead what we have is an administration actively working to keep it going.

And for what its worth, the sanctions were a huge mistake. They’ve not hurt Russia. In fact Russia is awash in cash thanks to the sanctions driving up the price of oil. What would have hurt Russia from the start would be to have driven down the price of oil via expanded domestic oil production coupled with sound diplomatic efforts to get friendly oil producing countries to do likewise. Russia depends on oil. When the price of oil is in the tank, Russia suffers. When the price of oil is high, Russia prospers. Only an idiot doesn’t see this. Sadly, we have an idiot in the White House.

(Down vote it all you want. What you can’t do though is refute what I’ve said)

You mean the only way to recover from a global economic recession is World War III? Color me surprised.

I love how you people blame Ukraine for continuing the war when it was Russia who started it. Russia started it, Russia can end it by withdrawing.

Russia is catching hell invading Ukraine, so what makes them think that invading England and Europe would go any better?

The matter of who is right or who is wrong most often has no bearing on geopolitical matters. I’m not disagreeing that Russia was in the wrong. Nor am I “blaming” Ukraine for continuing the war. I’m simply stating the facts from a non biased standpoint. Unlike most Americans, I do not view this war from an emotional standpoint of “pulling” for one side over the other as though this was a giant SEC football game.

So when I say no good can come from Ukraine continuing the wad, I mean the military situation on the ground shows clearly Ukraine lacks the military capability to achieve an outcome favorable from a Ukrainian standpoint. At this point Ukraine would be better served to come to a settled peace because the longer the war drags on, the worse the scales of the military situation will tip against Ukraine. Sometimes the vest move is to sue for peace to preserve what you have and them use that peace to rebuild. Thats where Ukraine is now. I don't say that due to any “fandom” of Russia. I say that as a neutral observer with a lifetime of deep study in history, particularly military history, and understanding of geopolitical matters.

WWIII has been in the back of my mind since I was a kid. This does nothing to move it forward in my thoughts.

I don't mean to laugh at this but I am. You’re looking at this from an emotional standpoint. This is not how it works in war. Russia will not sue for peace as long as there is no compelling reason for them to do so. From the Russian standpoint, they see the Ukrainian forces are getting weaker and Russian forces are gaining ground. The military situation has swung heavily in Russia’s favor. They have no reason to sue for peace because in their view they are on their way to achieving their goals through military means.

If we want Russia to sue for peace, we would have to give therm a compelling reason to do so. By that I mean we would have to fundamentally alter the military situation in Ukraine. The only way to do this would be send NATO military forces in to Ukraine to engage the Russian army in open combat, in other words, wed have to start WWIII to force Russia to sue for peace.

Russia started it

Russia invaded. Russia is at fault for the destruction in Ukraine.

However, “started it” is rather limited take.

An analogy, if a guy threatens to run me over in his car, then gets in the car, starts it up, chases my children around the parking lot, only to have me bust a window, leap into the car, and proceed to whip the ever living frick out of him...I wouldn’t say that I “started it.”

Perhaps I got in his face because he said I should have aborted my kids. Perhaps his dumb fricking friend said he had his back if things escalated. There can be a lot of moving parts.

I say that the ice cream eater started it by rolling out the red carpet for Ukraine to join NATO.

Then again, I also feel that if Mexico or Canada signed a military alliance with China and / or Russia to fight against the USA...

It’s go time:

I didn’t even mention fomenting a revolution by the Obama administration as I find the old president installed by Putin to be just as illegitimate as the actor.
