Damn their door to door salesmen are relentless. I just let one guy give me the spiel and said no thanks and then he came back with his manager. Offering to pay 100% of my cancellation fee at ADT. Now I feel like I’m getting a deal but I don’t want the dudes in my house installing at 930 on a Wednesday night.

Check their BBB rating and see how many class action law suits they’ve lost and have pending.

They just cased the house. I'd start writing down serial numbers on expensive items.

Good luck getting out of their contract. They forward the bills to that Mormon Joe Smith dude to give to you in the afterlife

No worse than these dudes coming to my door daily it seems wanting to inspect my roof. Always some clown in a jacked up FX4 with shaved legs and straight from the tanning bed.

Buy on your own terms, not theirs. If you feel rushed, push back. Their "time bound" offer will be there tomorrow, and next week.

As someone who understands sales and the process, I tell my team to never use pressure to push someone into purchasing. Instead use pressure to prevent them from procrastinating. There is a difference.

I just started working for them. It's a great deal and much better product than ADT. You will have no regrets switching

Exactly. I try to demonstrate the pain of waiting to decide. Long ago i used to pressure people into a sale and a good number would back out in a short time.

Now, i educate and slowly eliminate solutions until they chose wait they want

I told one through the window no thanks and to get off property. He didn’t so I called police to escort them off.

Selling burglar alarms would be a great way to case houses.

They teach you about having people fill out and sign an “interest form” that has a contract on the back of it yet?

Yeah. Why should it be our fault people are idiots? Our product works so I can sleep well at night. A sale is a sale no matter how you get it.

That might be worth some scratch. I once sold a business who had ADT, and the new owner wanted a different company. When I called to cancel, they told me I was on the hook for the rest of the 5 year contract. I had to write it in the sale docs that the buyer couldn't cancel the alarm.

ADT sucks butthole. I don't know how bad Vivent is but I can guarantee you they aren't worse than ADT.
