I post for controversy because debate and truth are important.

Rex, you've made your point, and I agree that lies were told about Jane Fonda's actions during the Vietnam War. I believe that her words and actions that are not in dispute were still abominable. I agree that she has the right via the first amendment to free speech, but to your point that I've quoted above, you can't deprive people of hating or despising her for what she said and did. Again, I'm speaking of the words and actions that indeed she has taken account for.
All very fair, and thanks for being civil while others here were too immature to be so.
What I spoke up about here is the SMEAR, which despite your objections portray something far more abominable than anything she ever did. The fact that somebody had to invent the lies demonstrate to me that her actual actions were not abominable enough for their purposes.

in this thread you're trying to tell my father and everyone else that fought in viet-nam, to start seeing hanoi jane for who/what you think she is. not who/what she most definitely was.
just because vanity fair wants to award her the silver cross, doesn't mean you get to decide when or if it will ever be time for her to be forgiven for what many see as treason like behavior.
you would be better off trying to promote the AHCA in its last few days before "penalties" that will never be collected start to incur than to try to paint JF in a different light.

So you're telling me that bama fans not only don't have sex with their siblings but they're actually the classiest fan base in the country?

No, I'm urging them to stick to the truth. They're entitled to their opinions.
As I've said, she did and said things she should apologize for, and has. Whether that results in forgiveness is personal... but truth is not personal and she's been smeared to appear more despicable than she actually is. She was perfectly entitled to believe and speak that the war was wrong; she was perfectly entitled to believe and speak that communism was not necessarily an evil. None of that means she was responsible for tortures or deaths.

It's truly sad how messed up is that whole situation.
I have a relative to whom I'm pretty close and very fond, but no matter how many times I show him the proof that what he and other Vietnam vets accuse Jane Fonda of doing to POWs in North Vietnam DID NOT happen.
That useless war left many of our fellow Americans in a bad psychological state. It's hard to admit to oneself, I suppose, that you were used without clear purpose, and had to witness horrors as part of that.
But the smear of Jane Fonda should end.... now.
Jane Fonda can go frick herself.
I wanna explain how I feel about that in as few words as possible.
I heard rumors, from friends, about what pain she had caused some of our POWs when I got back to Bragg.
The rumors turned into reports, then pictures, then first hand accounts ... and before I left Bragg there were bumper stickers being circulated, "Boycott Jane Fonda - American Traitor Bitch."
That was over forty years ago.
I grabbed so many of those bumper stickers as to insure that I would be able to put a new one on the bumper of every car I owned for the rest of my life ... and I still do. I put one on every new car.
She's an evil bitch ... just like most far left wing liberal progressive socialist communists.

How many do you want? Let's start here: quote: Why are you so afraid to post it on the Poli Board? Something over there has you scared.
Ok, that is a question, followed by an opinion. Not a lie.
You're gonna have to do better than that, Gerald. Keep digging.

Yes, she was. And the far left wing liberal progressive socialist communist spin machine in charge of revisionist history will never be able to change that fact ... Jane Fonda was responsible for the torture and death of American soldiers.

Sounds like you never took the time to learn the truth. I've provided three links from three separate fact check organizations. I've provided a service. Avail yourself of it.

So what you're saying is I could go walk up to some random black dude on the street and start making ape noises and call him a n***er then apologize to him and it'd be all good?
Posted on 1/13/16 at 1:25 pm to Wolfhound45
That's just typical LSUpimp and terd ferguson... constructing strawmen and red herrings. LSUpimp's modus operandi will probably next compel him to declare that I lied by denying that his s.o. had to flee Vietnam and that I defended North Vietnamese torturers. What he lacks in brains he makes up for in dishonesty... while seeking pats on the back like a puppy.

Why would she need to apologize if this is all a smear campaign? Huh?

Are you unfamiliar with the many emails and blog posts that accuse her of turning over notes she received from POWs to their North Vietnamese captors?
I would bet that almost every one of those VFW members who piss in that urinal believe that to be true.

I realize it is coming at you from every angle in this thread (which you thoroughly enjoy), but you are not supposed to give me the time of day nor the satisfaction.
Just trying to be there for you.
